ValveのPR担当であるDoug LambirdiがGamespotに

"We will be releasing v.1 of that in the coming weeks."
（私達は今後数週間のうちに(SDKの）v.1をリリースするでしょう。）

と伝えたそうです。それとHavockのValve起訴、という噂には

"to the best of our knowledge it is nothing more than a rumor."
（私たちの知る限りでは、それはただの噂である）

とのこと。GamespotはHL2の発売は、SDKのリリースからそれ程離れていないと推測しているそうです。
